I swear here in Europe (or at least in my country) we don't even know wtf declawing is. If you bring your cat to the vet asking for it they will probably press charges on you for cruelty and take away your cat from your dangerous ass.. this is what being detached from reality means for sure. For my forever friend, he was scratching my wife and my son to the point of neither of them enjoying him. I put up with the cuts in an attempt to bond, but he was a playful cat with scratch habits. I talked to my vet who talked me out of the pricier laser procedure, stating that it is harder for them to heal since the laser pseudo cauterizes the wound before it has a chance to close. (she persuaded me to do the less expensive, higher success rate method) My cat was running around 24 hours after surgery, using a paper shreddings litter box for a week and the only change we noticed was a sweeter cat. He is now a staple in the home and we fight over who gets to lay with him at night. Highly recommend as a last resort.
