Chloe Victoria Mustard If your cats aren’t using your scratching posts, they aren’t satisfied with the posts. They may be too short or too tippy or covered with the material the cats don’t like. Posts should be at least 30", covered with sisal (most cats love it), and sturdy. Destructive cats are also usually bored cats. Interactive play with fishing rod-type toys every day to tire out the cats should help. Try tossing small toys to see if the cats like chasing them or catching them in midair. (Most people tell me they’ve done all this. Don’t bother. Just start playing with your cats every day and they’ll behave better.) Double-sided tape and Ssscat canned air spray are the most useful deterrents. Call your local SPCA or humane society for more behavior help. We the north shirt
