I have multiple scratch posts and use some stuff that acts like a pheromone to help attract cats to scratch there. My little speedy who I got declawed would walk right past them all and go destroy the carpet. All the places to rent around us it is so hard to find a place that rents to people with pets much fewer cats. I felt so horrible getting him declawed, but we tried everything to get him to stop, it was either give him away and he spends the rest of his life in a shelter, or get him declawed. I still feel bad about it, but I just give him that much more love and treats and pets and cuddles.
