I have a rescue pit that does the same thing. She was very badly abused before we got her. But she loves to snuggle in the bed with me. Breanna Haddock — I would continue being patient. I haven’t been able to have him stay on the bed all night. He gets startled when I move. How my greyhound is. He has gotten over most of it and enjoys cuddles, even comes up and lays down on me himself most of the time now. But if he falls asleep and I move or touch him, he will jump up with a startled growl, then when he sees it’s you he relaxes and goes back to cuddling. It’s hard not to wonder what they’ve gone through. He was older as he retired at 5.5yrs old! He spent a little longer at the track than most retired greys.
